Marie Stopes Timor-Leste (MSTL), a member of the Marie Stopes International (MSI) global partnership is a non-profit, non-government organization (NGO) specializing in supporting and delivering high quality family planning and sexual and reproductive health services (SRH). We have been working in Timor-Leste since 2007 to support the Ministry of Health (MoH) implement national reproductive health strategies and achieve national maternal health goals. Our guiding principles are to support the MoH to deliver a broad range of high-quality family planning and SRH services, ensure excellence in clinical quality, and support the delivery of services that are client-focused and promote choice.

 MSTL seeks for a Timorese National for the position of Translator to be based out of its Dili office with occasional travel to the municipalities.          

 As a member of the Human Resources team the translator supports Marie Stopes Timor – Leste (MSTL) in the day-to-day translation and interpretation of MSI communications and documents. The Translator works closely with all MSTL team members to ensure the comprehension of written and verbal communication and ensures that MSTL staff receive appropriate messages as required.


·         Advanced knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and expressions in English and Tetun

·         Knowledge of language specific to public and sexual reproductive health is a plus

·         Knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia and Portuguese (desirable)

·         Proven copywriting, editing and proofreading skills

·         Ability to prioritize and manage workload

·         Intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook

·         Ability to be flexible and support the needs of the team as required
